Therapeutic scissors

Therapeutic scissors, specially designed to help educators with the fine motor training of young children, as well as children with mental or physical disabilities. The scissors have two pairs of handles – one pair for the child and one for the adult. This way, the child can learn how to use scissors – in a safe and gentle way, where the adult can not only help control the cutting direction, but also help open and close the scissors. By experiencing the movement pattern of the scissors, children eventually learn to handle scissors independently. Using therapeutic scissors gives children a sense of empowerment and is often associated with those all-important small successes that pave the way for self-development and empowerment.

The therapeutic scissors may only be used by children who are motorically or mentally challenged, under qualified supervision and guidance.
