Therapeutic rug for sensory therapy/sensory integration

The therapeutic rug is an aid developed for sensory therapy and sensory integration. The child is wrapped well in the therapeutic blanket by rolling them up and tightening the Velcro straps to ensure sufficient pressure and sensory stimulation. The therapist or the child’s parent can also massage, squeeze or ‘knead’ them. The Velcro straps of the blanket are designed to guarantee even pressure distribution and easy opening when the child needs to get out. A therapeutic rug as part of sensory therapy or sensory integration programs helps increase body awareness and stimulates the vestibular (balance), proprioceptive (muscles and joints) and tactile (touch) senses. The rug is designed specifically with children with sensory challenges in mind, as well as children who need pressure therapy or room boundaries.

The therapeutic rug is made of soft and comfortable Minky fabric on the outside and is filled with PU foam for maximum comfort. The rug measures 100cm in length and 118 cm in width. It can be used by anyone over the age of 3 who can be sufficiently retracted. The user’s head should never be covered by the blanket, although feet may be covered if a child is not very tall.
